Meet the Author - Malavika Rajesh

Miss. Malavika Rajesh, young author Interacted with the Readers' Club members on 26 July 2017 at the multipurpose hall.

Malavika Rajesh is the author of "Watch Out", a collection of short novel and two short stories. In her address, Malavika shared her experience as a student and a writer and informed the audience how she could cop up with the stress when she lost the sweetness of her voice as she took up writing poems and stories. She told the students not to be disheartened "when a door closes, instead look for another and be confident to follow the dreams".

Miss. Lavitha and Miss. Varsha of Class IX interviewed Malavika and asked her about the issues of Internet safety, which was the theme of her short novel. Malavika expressed her concern over the various safety issues of Internet and said that though the Internet has many dangers one can safeguard against all of them by taking precautions. She told the students to be cautious and to use it for leisure and learning in a positive way and to abstain from disclosing personal information on the Net.

Miss. Anjala Sherin, Secretary, Readers' Club proposed the vote of thanks.
Miss. Malavika Rajesh later addressed the students of Class XI.

The author meet was successful and the students enjoyed the session. The students were eager to hear their peer sharing her experiences and to interact with her.

Book Donation Drive a Huge Success

The Book Donation Drive initiated as an activity to strengthen the library collection through donations from staff and students was a huge success. The enthusiasm of the students was overwhelming. The total number of books received was much more than what we expected.

Thanks to the wholehearted support from Mrs. Rajeswari, Principal and the members of Library Committee and other teachers who also joined the drive by donating books/Amazon gift vouchers to the library.
The response of the students, especially the tiny tots was heartening. A total of 270+ books were received which included all types of books.

The details will be updated soon on the blog. Thanks to our student volunteers who are busy in the data entry of books.

Thank you everyone for your support and your interest.
It is indeed a privilege to be the Librarian of KV Kanjikode.
